PAIN

L’ Autre Bout Du Monde

*ENGLISH TRANSLATION*

It's said that the weather's always good

It's where the birds migrate to
They say that
About the other side of the world

I walk alone in the fog It's decided, that's it, I leave
I'm off To the other side of the world
The other side of the world (x2)

I arrive on the banks of a river
A voice calls me then is lost
It's your voice
On the other side of the world

Your voice, which tells me my precious
All this time, I was not dead
I lived
On the other side of the world

On the other side of the world (x2)

On the river it rains gold
In my arms I hold your body
You are there
On the other side of the world
I rejoin you when I fall asleep
But I want to see you again
Where is it
The other side of the world?
The other side of the world (x3)

L' Autre Bout de Monde is a song by Emilie Loizeau and the translation of the lyrics is right here.  Those lyrics seem to connect to Siddhartha because it talks about how she is lost in "fog" and how she wants to go to the "Other Side of the World".  Then, she hears a voice, like the "OM", and loses it.  The whole song, she's looking for the other side and the voice, kind of like the search Siddhartha made throughout the whole book for his spiritual identity.

Sadness - Bloodflowerz

This song is just really the description of the songwriter's point of view on how pain makes a person feel.  The lyrics tell us that they feel "pain in their heart" and it feels like a rainstorm in the dark.  It literally says that "I am your pain" and states it's effects proudly.  This can be seen to personify pain as something that truly wants to affect you and intentionally causes negativity in a person's life.

Innuendo - Queen

While everything keeps going accordingly to plan, the earth keeps turning, and the stars keep burning, we'll keep on trying. There is war, racism, hatred, poverty, etc., but we'll keep trying to get thru it, to put a stop to it, to bring peace and love to one another, we'll keep on trying. The line "you can be anything you want to be, just turn yourself into anything you think that you could ever be" - if theres a will, theres a way. If you think you can make a difference then you can! you can achieve it if you want it enough. And also that you need to be yourself, and expect to be accepted showing your true colors. "Be free with your tempo, be free, be free, surrender your ego, be free, be free, to yourself." Don't follow the crowd! Be an individual, live your life on YOUR perspective. I also must think of Freddie's situation of his sexuality and how he had to grow to be proud and "chin up" about it and how it needed to be free/True to himself alone.

What Would You Do - City High

This song and music video show the things that people go through when their whole life is filled with hardships and troubles.  The girl in the story told through the song says that her character was forced to run away from home so that she wouldn't get raped.  She also had a kid with a man who's always stoned and can't take care of the child.  Eventually she is forced into prostitution and stripping.  The males in the video don't understand the way that she copes with her pain and difficulties, and, apparently, don't get that everyone deals with pain differently.

Breathe - Anna Nalick

This song seems to capture the essence of life in general, the fact that you can't turn back, all you can do is find some way to comfort yourself, and try your best to move on ahead. There's no turning back that "hourglass".

Rainy Days - Late Night Alumni

Ronnie - Metallica

The lyrics to this song is based on a school shooting that took place in 1995. School Shootings are very serious and play a major issue in our society today because kids these bully one another and feel like they must get revenge.

In the Caravan- Shlomo Gronich and the Sheba Choir

In Israel, there are Ethiopian Jews that arrive but are segregated because many don't believe that they deserve to live in and be treated as Israeli's.  There's a belief supporting their claim to Judaism that they are derived from the biblical tribe Dan.  This song tells of the struggles of a young boy and his family after they arrive in Israel.
