PAIN

Bullying

A very painful experience or series of experiences in, most commonly, a child or adolescent's life is bullying.  This comes in many forms such as cyberbullying, physical or verbal abuse, and rejection or exclusion. The effects of this fairly common and terrible thing that kids choose to do to others are numerous, but often it's seen that kids will start cutting, have suicidal thoughts, begin experimenting with drugs and alcohol, which can lead to substance abuse, and every so often, sadly, there will be school shootings.  One very well-known example of a school shooting was Columbine, in which Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold killed 12 students, a teacher, and themselves when they took guns into their school and started shooting at their peers.  In this video we compiled from internet resources, we show pages of their journals where they planned out the entire day, April 20th, and what time everything would occur.  We also show some of the aftereffects and what the school looked like later on in the day.

Sexting

Sexting is the act of sending sexually explicit messages or photographs, primarily between mobile phones. The word is portmanteau of sex and texting, where the latter is meant in the wide sense of sending a text possibly with images. Today, many teens send these pictures and when it accidentally gets around school they get teased and tormented. Many of them have to move school, some become Emo, and others commit suicide. So think before you sext!

Megan's Law and Cyberbullying

In 2006, a girl named Megan hanged herself in her bedroom closet.  She had always been socially awkward and struggled with making friends and fitting in.  Her best friend's mother, for some ungodly reason, decided to make a MySpace account under the name of a boy, Josh Evans, and become Megan's online "boyfriend".  He was so sweet to her until, without warning, he changed.  He called her a bad person, and she committed suicide.  This was a parent of a daughter Megan's age creating these lies and such pain.  Megan's parents will never get over their late daughter and they could never forgive the grown woman that they trusted and who cyberbullied their daughter to the point of suicide.
